This week for Fototip Friday, I’m sharing a peek inside a family photo session. You know how rarely I share photo sessions. I have a deep respect for my clients privacy, and only share sessions when they ask, or give their express permission. This particular session happened to be with my friend (and fellow photographer) Sara, of The Blessed Everyday. Sara did such a fabulous job selecting her family’s wardrobe, I asked if she would allow me to share her session, and if she would write a blog post about her wardrobe selection, to go along with it!
Wardrobe selection is always high on any clients’ list of questions, and I’m always happy to walk you through making the decisions of what to wear, and what not to wear. Sara did such a beautiful job with the clothing selection for her family, I begged her to share her process. You will notice that not only did she coordinate her family’s clothing, but she was also very aware of the season, the area where we would be shooting, and the colors that would be in her photos. Beautiful.
We needed to have a photo with “the boys”! Love how happy little E is to be outside with his dad.
When I posted this photo to Facebook, people fell in love with this little guy! If he could talk, it would sound something like “lady, I’m just too cool to smile”.
Being in front of the camera is hard, and sometimes you just need to take a little break. 😉 There was water after all!
With such a beautiful mama (inside and out) to photograph, we had to get a couple of pictures of Sara, and her newest addition!
Seriously, do I get to photograph the most gorgeous mama’s, or what?!
Can you tell how much this couple loves each other?
This is a perfect example of “lifestyle photography”. Capturing those beautiful, everyday moments, that we remember in our minds eye. Just love the way these two love each other.
The kids have been so great, they just need some time to relax, and “let go”!
One of the important aspects of this photo session, was to get some photos of one of their family rituals; reading together each night. The whole gang piles onto mama and papa’s bed, for bedtime stories. This is a beautiful part of their day, and their unique family story, that they want to always be able to remember.
And now, go visit Sara, and read about her wardrobe selection process, 5 Tips for Picking Outfits, because she nailed it!
play hard, and have fun,
